Granite

Granite is hard enough to resist abrasion, strong enough to bear significant weight, and retains brilliant polish. These characteristics make it a very desirable and useful dimension stone. Granite must be sealed, but don’t shy away because of this! The process is a very simple: wipe on, let sit and wipe off. The cost of Granite is usually less than quartz but very close to marble. So pick the stone YOU want, I mean…you’re the one who’s going to be looking at it everyday.

Marble

Marble is a classic. Well known throughout the world to be used on many famous sculptures! Marble is the softest stone out of our three options (making it good for sculpting). Marble isn’t the easiest to maintain and isn’t the most durable. But, if you like the look of the nice veins throughout and are wanting a classic look, you can’t go wrong with this stone!

Durability: 7.5

Quartz

Quartz is the strongest of the three materials listed. It is also the most expensive and most resistant to heat! Quartz is my #1 choice for counters every time as it does not require any sealing process and is the most “use resistant”. When you choose this material you are choosing a counter that will look new for years to come! Yes; it costs a little more and the slabs are smaller...so what? Quartz looks the best!

Durability: 9.5
